News You Should Know...
The 2013-2014 school year will bring many changes!
In 2007 Mechele Yerima accepted the position to lead Transfiguration Catholic School as the principal. As a Transfiguration alumnus, parent of two graduates, parishioner and teacher for many years, Mechele saw this not as a job but as a calling and a blessing. She immediately and continuously worked tirelessly to create a vision worthy of families who supported the Transfiguration community. She focused her energy on ensuring the students of Transfiguration Catholic School received no less than all that is promised in our school Mission Statement: Each student of Transfiguration School shall experience a well-balanced curriculum, grow in love of God, self, humankind and all creation, develop knowledge of and respect for his/her cultural heritage and prepare to become a responsible citizen of society. With much prayer, Mechele has made the decision to not return to Transfiguration Catholic School for the 2013-2014 school year. Fr. Tang, pastor, has appointed Evelyn Rickenbacker as the principal for the 2013-2014 school year. Evelyn is not new to Transfiguration! She is also an alumnus, parent of a current Transfiguration student, parishioner and she has taught for several years including teaching at Transfiguration this past school year. We wish both Mechele and Evelyn success and God’s blessings!
